The UK Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith claimed yesterday he could get by on £53 a week in benefits he if he "had to". An online petition is calling on him to try.

"This is a complete stunt which distracts attention from the welfare reforms which are much more important and which I have been working hard to get done. I have been unemployed twice in my life so I have already done this. I know what it is like to live on the breadline."

A complete stunt but he’s no Evel Knievel willing to show how it’s done because he’s already jumped that canyon I guess.
