This weeks stories & pics
Kat Dennings’s dinner with Drake set off Twitter fan rampage (omg.yahoo.com).
“When I got home I had like 50,000 new followers out of nowhere, and then I looked at my adds and they were like, ‘****You Kat Dennings’ like, ‘You can’t take Drake from me, he’s mine.’…”
And speaking of Amanda ‘Drake-fill-my-vagina’ Bynes, she struck a plea deal, got probation for driving on a suspended license (dailymotion.com).
Plenty of Oops!
Vanessa Hudgens’ skirt dropped for the Stones (egotastic.com).
Everyone else just got their pants pulled down by the ticket price.
More pics of the mishap here (cn-hd.org).
Olivia Munn gave some nip departing the Chateau (egotastic.com).
Miley Cyrus, Met Gala in New York City (gotceleb.com).
And speaking of Miley…
Miley Cyrus topped Maxim Hot 100 list (digitalspy.co.uk).
Here’s more Maxim Miley cheekiness too (imgchili.com).
Rihanna and difficult Chris Brown broke up again (I think) (dailymail.co.uk).
“If I drop all my hoes for you and we still don’t work out you owe me some hoes.”
Perhaps there’s just a “s” missing there.
Still, RiRi found time for some tongue poking at Greenhouse nightclub (hotcelebshome.com), which pleased me no-end of course.
Britney Spears on her love-hate relationship with her derrière (examiner.com).
“I like it, then again, I hate it,” Spears confessed to [Shape magazine]. “I‘m in my 30s now, so I have to work harder to keep it ‘up’.”
I don’t think she need worry, her derrière will be keeping things up for many for long to come! What do you think?
|Still love it, Brit!||53%|
|Work harder, Brit, please!||47%|
This poll has now been archived.
Here’s Britney in June’s issue (hotcelebshome.com).
Megan Fox was jumping on set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (gotceleb.com).
Yup, I think she’ll make a good April.
Xenia Deli was lovely in lingerie (egotastic.com).
Kate Moss got naked for new St. Tropez campaign (uk.omg.yahoo.com).
Rita Ora got dove tattoo and gave the artist one in return (dailymail.co.uk) while…
“Ora picked up the needle and gave Bang Bang, … a matching tattoo, as is the tradition which has been carried out by stars including Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Nicole Scherzinger and Rihanna.”
“The 20-year-old model is under the world's magnifying glass after she dropped a packet of suspicious looking white powder in a baggie as she left her London home.”
Let let Rita get loose with her tongue for shoot for Hunger TV (dailymail.co.uk).
Yup, no prizes for guessing I’m a big fan. :)
One for the ladies…
TOWIE’s Kirk Norcross apologised for getting caught Essexing it up on cam (uk.omg.yahoo.com).
He said: “F*******k!!!! People these days!!!! Cooooome oooonnn guys we have all done it I’m just the stupid one that got caught! Sorry guys :-(” … And to add to the comedic factor, Kirk's DAD, Mick Norcross, then waded in on the ordeal tweeting: "WTF @kirk_official
.:: Top column 2 ::.
“A lot of my girlfriends who are back home have done personal sexy shots, sexual videos, feminine things showing their sexuality and being happy for themselves.”
So Farrah just decided to go “one-up” on her friends? Certainly one up her bum!
Here’s Farrah taking a stripper pole workout (gotceleb.com)
Joe Wright bound for Fifty Shades of Grey directors chair? (guardian.co.uk).
“Joe Wright, the acclaimed British director of Atonement, Pride & Prejudice and Anna Karenina, has emerged as the surprise frontrunner to direct the forthcoming big-screen adaptation of “mommy porn” literary sensation 50 Shades of Grey”
I’m still of a mind to say I think they’ve left this tied too long and that it’ll end up direct-to-DVD, which I think will be a shame if only because it could have further whipped the porn-is-not-for-women brigade.
Arts, tech. & funnies
“There is absolutely no reason to have half naked women running through the city in aid of the opening of a new store. It suggests women will do anything for a clothes voucher.”
“The /r/gonewild, message board on Reddit is described as, ‘place for open-minded Adult Redditors to exchange their nude bodies for karma; showing it off in a comfortable environment without pressure’ There’s also a /r/girlsgonebitcoin subreddit where you can, ‘post your naughty bits and get tipped in a digital currency.’”
Ray Harryhausen obituary (guardian.co.uk).
“Raymond Frederick Harryhausen, special effects creator and technician, born 29 June 1920; died 7 May 2013”
As some readers may recall, The Valley of Gwangi is one of my favourite films of all time and the chewing up of Tia’s midget is a favoured idiom for when things are beyond recovery.
The Guardian’s Jonathan Jones put it succinctly that Ray Harryhausen matched JMW Turner for special effects genius (guardian.co.uk)
“Like the great painters, Harryhausen was a visionary who brought the old myths back to life for a contemporary audience”
“What he does, of course, is to shock the tasteful and offend cultural hierarchies by mixing high and low, art and money, art and sex, in sculptures and paintings that are at once offensively ‘slick’ and bizarrely brilliant. Where Hirst has run out of ideas, Koons carries on being gleefully provocative. He is the art world’s true king of pop.”
“Koons has made his name manufacturing toys for rich old boys—exacting pagan monuments to mass-culture triviality, like his stainless-steel balloon animals or vibrantly colored metallic Popeye, which he calls a self-portrait…”
Adobe previewed Projects Mighty and Napoleon, a digital pen and ruler for the iPad & iPhone (digitalartsonline.co.uk).
“Both projects were shown connected to an iPad or iPhone using Bluetooth, and work with as yet unreleased apps designed specifically for the hardware, to provide new ways to create illustrations digitally.”
“… Adobe’s not aiming to make money out of hardware. What Adobe does well is make software, and Mighty and Napoleon are a way to make that software work seamlessly with creative tools.”
Microsoft prepares U-turn on Windows 8 (ft.com).
“Pressure has been building for Windows 8 PCs to launch the familiar desktop view when turned on—and to bring back the “start” button featured in the lower left corner of the screen in previous releases.”
I don’t know one person using it who isn‘t using some Start menu replacement.
“It’s unclear if the Start tip will be enough to quiet critics who are clamoring for the ease of use that comes with familiarity. The Start tip is a bit of a half-step toward a Start button. Microsoft seems to be giving a nod to its critics but not quite giving them all they had wanted.”
Is Google Glass missing one critical factor? (cnet.com).
“… Google Glass still doesn’t have a clear response to the one big question that all revolutionary products must answer: How does it make my life better?”
I dunno; We live in a very voyeuristic, vicarious era, that POV potential may well turn out to be it’s raison d’être.
