This weeks (very late) stories & pics
Lady Gaga got totally nude and somewhat primal for the “Abramovic Method” (hollywoodlife.com).
“Lady Gaga spent three days at a retreat in upstate New York learning the Abramovic Method, ‘a series of exercises designed to heighten participants’ awareness of their physical and mental experience….’”
Yeah, I normally have to take something to get all primal like that and then I have to put up with things running up and down the walls.
The video is part of a campaign designed to raise funds for a building which will act as an interdisciplinary performance and education centre for “grandmother of performance art” Marina Abramovic. It is also of course Gaga getting all Warholian for ARTPOP’s November release.
The video provoked Twitter indignation from serious mouse-masked muso Deadmau5:
“What the actual fuck? If some idiot howls in the woods and noones around, does it make a sound? MYTH BUSTED.”
The tweet was later removed after her Little Monsters caught his bollocks in a mousetrap after tempting him with a piece of attention cheese.
If she’s gonna keep getting her minge out Mama Monster can get as avant-garde as she bloody well likes as far as I‘m concerned.
Here’s the uncensored nudity stills (imgchili.net) and the video in high-def (uploaded.net).
“Speaking to the New York Times, Abramovic explained her motivation behind the Marina Abramovic Institute: ‘…It was a very intense experience; it’s not a painting or a sculpture, but an emotional event, and all these people felt it,’ she said.”
Oh, they felt it alright, it’s amazing what a bit of primal minge can do for a project!
