Kim Kardashian held at gunpoint, millions stolen, Kanye cancels show (tmz.com).

Cops outside Kim Kardashian West’s Paris appartment
“Armed gunmen broke into Kim Kardashian’s Paris apartment, taped her mouth shut and stole more than $10 million in jewelry and the emergency rippled quickly all the way to New York … where Kanye bolted from the stage mid-concert. There were 5 gunmen, posing as cops, who threatened the concierge and made him open the door to her room. Our sources say at least 2 gunmen bound and gagged Kim with handcuffs and tape and then put her in the bathtub. We’re told Kim begged them to spare her life, telling them she had babies at home. The gunmen knew exactly what they were doing … we’re told they beelined it for her jewelry and took a $4.5 million ring and a jewelry box. After the gunmen left she was able to break out of the restraints and called for help.”

And I’m sorry to say the first comment on forums related to pictures of female celebs I read that led to the article was:

Probably a storyline for their reality show. Move along…

Updated 4th October 2016

Kim Kardashian back in the US after being robbed in Paris (msn.com/Press Assoc.).

“The reality star flew into nearby Teterboro Airport in New Jersey in a private jet, hours after she was robbed at gunpoint of £8 million worth of jewellery. The star then went to an apartment in Manhattan, where family friends such as LaLa Anthony, wife of basketball player Carmelo Anthony, and Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck have visited her. Kim’s mum Kris Jenner was spotted leaving the apartment and indicated that her daughter was doing OK. A reporter asked how Kim was faring after the incident, and Kris gave the thumbs up signal.”

Celebrities show their support for Kim Kardashian following terrifying Paris robbery (huffingtonpost.com).

“Once news spread around the internet, online trolls couldn’t help but joke about it, leading many celebrities to jump to Kardashian’s defense on Twitter. They also shared their love and support for the mother of two. ”
Stop making Kim K. jokes…

Kim Kardashian feared she would be raped during Paris robbery, thought her “life was over” (usmagazine.com).

“According to the insider, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, was in bed wearing only a bathrobe when her hands were bound with plastic zip ties before she was carried into a bathroom. ‘She thought there was going to be a sexual assault or that she was going to be killed in the bathroom,’ the source tells Us of the horrifying experience. ‘They did not speak English. Kim was hysterically crying, begging for her life, telling them about her babies.’”

But as some not seeing it as purely a Kardashian trolling bonanza or pensionary Chapopololis Gorean-esque role play exercise may have figured yesterday:

Kim Kardashian Paris robbery smells like inside job (tmz.com).

“Sources involved in the case tell us … police and the Kardashian family don’t believe it was a coincidence that Kim was bodyguard-less at the time the robbers showed up and somehow made their way into her apartment … they think the robbers were tipped off it was the right time to strike. There was a very small window when the robbers had easy access. Kim had friends over until shortly before the incident went down. Kim’s bodyguard was always by her side—to the point Kim joked that it got annoying—except for the few hours he left to protect Kourtney and Kendall in a nearby nightclub. The Kardashians are in no way suggesting the bodyguard was in on it … in fact, they say they know he wasn’t. But they are convinced someone tipped off the robbers to strike at precisely the moment they could get in and out without detection.”

Indeed, reminding of Formula 1 chief Bernie Ecclestone wife’s mother-in-law ransom attempt not long back: Bernie Ecclestone’s helicopter pilot arrested for being “mastermind behind kidnap of F1 chief’s mother-in-law” (mirror.co.uk, Aug. 2016)

And, of course, as with much with the Kardies—who have as much the societal role of waist-trainer-wearing bugbears for those will little constructive to say about anything else either—all will have otherwise uncalled for opportunity to give their take:

Why did police let Kim flee Paris so soon, why no CCTV in the apartment and how did gang get through armoured door? Jacko’s former bodyguard examines the 10 key questions surrounding the Kardashian heist (dailymail.co.uk).

“Here MailOnline poses 10 unanswered questions that remain following the heist in the French capital while martial arts guru Matt Fiddes, the former bodyguard of Michael Jackson, gives his view on the robbery.”

Indeed, martial arts master Mr Fiddes may like to try his hand at the Clouseau role but his Inspector’s eye for detail may be hindered by the question asked of where his unshakable gaze was when Mr Jackson was allegedly up to nefarious all sorts that would enventually lead to a doctor proscribed fatal overdose.

“1. Why were Kim Kardashian and her best friend, the stylist Simone Harouche, by themselves in an unguarded flat with at least £8.5m worth of jewellery that Kim has pictured on social media? Family and other aides were staying less than a mile away at the Four Seasons George V Hotel. Mr Fiddes told MailOnline that there was never an occasion when he was looking after Michael Jackson that he would be left completely alone. He said: ‘Michael used to tell me that he had never walked down the street alone without security since he was seven years old. She should have absolutely not have been left alone without security, it is all very fishy.’”

I thought that had been explained as a case of human error with bodyguard looking after Kourtney and Kendall in a nearby nightclub and as for Mr Jackson never being left alone….

“2. Why was there no CCTV whatsoever inside or directly outside the palatial apartment block—where flats rent for up to £8,000 a week? Such cameras not only detect the approach of criminals, but also deter them. Mr Fiddes says that a celebrity on Kim Kardashian’s level should have had security cameras fitted not only outside the building but inside too. He explained: ‘A camera should have been fitted to the bedroom door where she was sleeping along with a sensor.’”

So somebody couldn’t leak said footage from camera I would guess, which in this day and Fappening age is certainly more likely than armed robbery. Is he conspiratorially “fishy” fingering the owners of the property? Who else was in on it?

“3.Why was only one night porter on duty in a block used to house some of the biggest stars in the world, including Madonna and Leonardo di Caprio? The block provides cooks, chauffers and other staff, so why not a 24/7 dedicated security team?”

So the cook was in on it, and doubtless the gardener too.

“4. How did the gang get through a deadlocked armoured door that was also bolted from the inside? There was no sign of forced entry, and no reason whatsoever why anybody would have allowed unidentified men entry in the middle of the night. Even if they were falsely claiming to be police, a simple telephone call could have alerted bona fide officers.”

I thought it had already been said “posed as cops, who threatened the concierge and made him open the door to her room”, presumably using similar trick on poor concierge to get inside said armoured door first.

“7. Why was Ms Kardashian allowed to leave France within a few hours of the crime, so as to return to the USA? It is common procedure for victims of serious crime to assist police and prosecutors with enquires for at least a few days afterwards. Key information could easily be forgotten if and when Ms Kardashian ever returns to Paris to speak to police again.”

Ah, so the real cops were in on it too; seriously, is he planning a book on this?

But to put Occam’s razor (Wikipedia) to surgical use looking for the most likely inside man:

EXCLUSIVE: Kim Kardashian’s personal bodyguard Pascal Duvier filed for company BANKRUPTCY ten weeks ago… with debts of €1MILLION (dailymail.co.uk).

“Kim Kardashian’s bodyguard filed for bankruptcy for his German security company ten weeks ago with debts of more than €1million, MailOnline can reveal. Pascal Duvier, 43, who was in a nightclub when the star fell victim to a £8.5million heist as she slept alone in her Paris hotel, lodged a claim for company insolvency at Heidelberg administrative court on July 22 this year. His German ProtectSecurity firm, which has run security for a host of stars from Kim’s husband Kanye West to the Black Eyed Peas, has racked up debts totalling €1,093,518 (£961,296). The insolvency lawyer on the case told MailOnline: ‘There is so much debt. There are many claimants. I cannot say the exact number. Lots.’”

But Kim and Kanye don’t see his financial worries as possible part of a robbery equation:

Pascal Needs Backup… call in the cavalry (tmz.com).

“Kim and Kanye West were seen in public with Saint and North in NYC Thursday morning … the first time they’ve been out since the robbery. They were flanked by new men in black … for increased protection. Pascals still in the mix. As we reported … Kim doesn’t blame him for what happened—but it’s obvious she’s taking a seriously new approach to keeping herself and her family safe.”

And a rearrangement of some priorities:

Kim Kardashian: My wealth won’t be in your face anymore (tmz.com).

Although, I must admit, it’s not other her wealth I often imagine in—or on—my face.

“We’re told Kim is taking a month off work and when she returns she’s pulling back in a big way on social media. She won’t be displaying her personal wealth … and she’ll even be less ostentatious with the promotion of her fashion line. Kim has been rocked to her core after being tied up with a gun to her head. She’s saying privately … ‘Material things mean nothing. It’s not all about the money,’ adding, ‘It’s not worth it.’”

Updated 9th October 2016

With Kim’s former bodyguard claiming it an inside job too but asserting his faith in current bodyguard Pascal and laying blame on Kim and Kanye’s behaviour for lax security, a breakthrough may have been made:

Sensational claims that French police have FACES of Kim Kardashian jewellery thieves thanks to “million-to-one” CCTV breakthrough (mirror.co.uk).

“It had been believed that despite having such a high-profile guest, there was only one security camera covering the prestigious £8,000-a-week Hotel Pourtales. And the Mirror has been told it was facing the wrong way, capturing none of the dramatic robbery. But it has sensationally been claimed tonight that the thieves WERE captured by another CCTV camera covering a nearby nail salon during the getaway. In a ‘million-to-one’ scenario, the gang can be seen in the reflection of a mirror as they walked through a small shopping precinct adjacent to the Kardashian apartment on Rue Tronchet, it is claimed.”
