And about time too many will say, whether that be that he take responsibility for his actions or that he just be brought to justice regardless.

Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein is expected to surrender to New York police on sexual misconduct charges, US media report.

He faces arrest on Friday following an investigation, the reports say.

And will be the first actual charges made since the scandal started. As of yet the actual allegation(s) for which he is surrendering himself are not known.

His lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, has not commented on the report that his client would imminently turn himself in.

In November last year, New York police said they were investigating allegations of rape made by actress Paz de la Huerta against Weinstein.

But sources state that the allegations for which he is handing himself in involve Lucia Evans, an aspiring actress in 2004 and one of the first women to publicly speak out against him:

She played a pivotal role in Weinstein’s downfall, as one of the first women to publicly speak out against him. Evans told The New Yorker in an October 10 report that he forced her to perform oral sex on him in 2004.

And reports of Weinstein’s imminent surrender coming on the same day as harassment claims are made against one of Hollywood’s most stalwart and respected acting names:

US film star Morgan Freeman has apologised following allegations of sexual misconduct made by eight women and several other people.

One production assistant accused Freeman of harassing her for months during filming of bank robbery comedy Going in Style, CNN reported.

Harvey Weinstein indicted on multiple rape & sex crime charges by Grand Jury (deadline.com).

“A Grand Jury has voted to indict Harvey Weinstein on charges of Rape in the First and Third Degrees, and Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree,” Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. said this afternoon.

And the wonder begins about what exactly will happen when Weinstein stands trial:

The Reckoning: Harvey Weinstein and the legal case for (and against) prison time (hollywoodreporter.com).

What legal observers are now asking: Will there be a trial? Might there be two trials? And if a trial happens, will the scores of other Weinstein accusers—some quite famous—be allowed on the witness stand to share their own stories of being victimized by a man who was once among the most powerful in entertainment?

With much reference made to the recent Bill Cosby trial of course, with courtroom showdown that if it occurs will not come for a year or two, and at the moment prosecutors are keeping what evidence they have pretty close to their chest.

Gearing up for his defense, a judge has allowed Weinstein to go public with emails from one of his accusers written after the alleged incident took place:

HARVEY WEINSTEIN ALLEGED VICTIM PROFESSED LOVE FOR HIM … after alleged rape (tmz.com).

Throughout the email chain over the years, they go back and forth talking about meeting up. At one point, she asks for a Soho House membership referral … she wanted to be a member and use him to get in.

And with much “It would be great to see you again”, “Miss you big guy” and “Your the one who makes it look good with your smile and beautiful eyes!!” (yes, addressed to him), with Weinstein’s lawyers attaching the emails to a motion to have one of the rape indictments dismissed, suggesting they taint the indictments of all 3 accusers.

Harvey Weinstein round robin email leaks: ‘I’ve had one hell of a year’ (telegraph.co.uk).

“Round Robin” not being a proper noun capitaisation fail and another actress he allegedly made watch him pull one off in the shower, rather:

An email sent by Harvey Weinstein to friends that has been widely circulated is believed to be a plea for sympathy by his accusers.

The email is doubtlessly awkwardly for those “close” fair whether friends and friends of convenience that are likely all he has left if not all he ever had now trying to fudge an “I’m away at the moment” automatic reply, beginning: “I’ve had one hell of a year. The worst nightmare of my life.” And then going on to criticise the police investigation with links included that likely no one touched before adding: “The articles are self explanatory, but I’d like to speak to you on the phone if you have some time. There is more to this story … I appreciate your confidentiality.”

Katherine Kendall, one of the first people to publicly accuse Weinstein, said there was manipulation at work in the sending the email, comparing it to the questionable “Oscar campaigns” (abcnews.go.com, Feb. 2017) he invented, but Weinstein’s lawyer Benjamin Brafman, who was apparently unaware of the sending, suggested a less strategic interpretation:

“The emails from Harvey have to be viewed from the perspective of someone who is very distressed,” he told The New York Times. “It’s him asking for help. This was not an aggressive move by Harvey Weinstein.”
