Verne Troyer, ‘Mini-Me’ in Austin Powers films, dies at 49 (cnn.com).
Verne Troyer, who played Mini-Me in two of the Austin Powers comedy films, has died at the age of 49, according to statements posted to his social media accounts Saturday.
Although no cause of death has been released he was hospitalized earlier this month after emergency responders in Los Angeles went to his home and the statement announcing his death said he had undergone “recent time of adversity”. Mike Myers who played Austin Powers called Troyer a “consummate professional and a beacon of positivity” and said “It is a sad day, but I hope he is in a better place. He will be greatly missed”.
