Whatever’s on my mind really.

A peek at illustration inspiring celebrity sexiness, quirky news stories from inherently pornified pop culture, tips, sketchbook and work in progress, reviews and other things of interest; whatever’s on my mind really—which more fool you if you ever take that seriously.

Latest Picks is a sort of mini-blog for daily thoughts and picks. Longer articles, stories & sketches are found in the full-size blog, where indeed Latest Picks are moved when updates to a story make it too large.

Note: Both Latest Picks and Blog are to be retired at the end of September, although both will remain available indefinitely as an archived part of the site. No further updates to past stories will be made.

Yep, it’s that time of the week again to round-up related but not particularly naked stories.

Pussyhat goes on display at V&A in London Private Eye, New Battle of the Sexes

Pussyhat goes on display at the V&A (thisisnocave.blogspot.co.uk).

“A pink woollen ‘pussyhat’ that was worn at the Women’s March on Washington has gone on display at the V&A [Victoria and Albert Museum of the decorative arts] in London. The hat was one of thousands donned at January’s protest in response to Donald Trump’s controversial 2005 comments about grabbing women ‘by the pussy’. The garment forms part of the Victoria and Albert museum’s Rapid Response collection of items reflecting current global and political events. … The initiative aimed to turn the 21 January march into a ‘sea of pink’ in protest against the Trump administration. Other marches that took place around the world also saw widespread use of the garment. According to the V&A’s Corinna Gardner, the hat became ‘an immediately recognisable expression of female solidarity and symbol of the power of collective action’.”

Has it created a new “battle of the sexes”, is it all part of the Illuminatus “feminist agenda” aiming to make life of “returing lil’ king” MRA’s (“Mens Rights Activists”, urbandictionary.com) reminding the gender flip of Freudian penis-envy is castration anxiety and MGTOW’s (“Men Going Their Own Way”) not yet arrived at the YMCA all the more armchair unsatisfying by depriving them of conspiracy dungarees and demanding right—before they themself invariably suggest it in Moose n’ Buck ManOChat—to give ’em a right good gender un-privileged pegging.

This is no cave!

A digest that through the quirky deconstruction of latest stories aims to show that a lot of media “opinion” is actually just “agenda” or “opportunity” and why philosophy is useful in everyday life in defining—for and by yourself—the difference between what ancient Greeks like Plato defined as episteme (knowledge) and doxa (belief), and not just idealistic training to pack Fyffes bananas. Think a bumper bonanza of those cultural, political and just down right hypothetical you don’t really read in Latest Picks.
