“The star, who was nominated for the best actor Oscar in 1968 for his performance in the Charles Dickens adaptation, died in hospital today after being ill for some time. The actor, who will forever be associated for his role as the elderly crook, was ‘singing until the end’, his family said. ”

Unsuprisingly seemingly much underated but conversely much modernly rated Anthony Schaffer’s 1973 cult classic The Wicker Man with Christopher Lee as cult leader Lord Summerisle, Edward Woodward as the luckless hero and Britt Ekland adding a touch of nude pagan erotica came in as likely quite firm favourite for several older commentators, wheras Count Dooku scored suprisingly well with those young enough not to need to pay over excessive reverance to the OT—not surprising, he did get to go saber to saber with Yoda. Me, myself and I? I’m torn between The Face of Fu Manchu and the Golden Gun wielding Scaramanga.
