Whatever’s on my mind really.

A peek at illustration inspiring celebrity sexiness, quirky news stories from inherently pornified pop culture, tips, sketchbook and work in progress, reviews and other things of interest; whatever’s on my mind really—which more fool you if you ever take that seriously.

Latest Picks is a sort of mini-blog for daily thoughts and picks. Longer articles, stories & sketches are found in the full-size blog, where indeed Latest Picks are moved when updates to a story make it too large.

Note: Both Latest Picks and Blog are to be retired at the end of September, although both will remain available indefinitely as an archived part of the site. No further updates to past stories will be made.

Sir Christopher Lee

Sir Christopher Lee dies at the age of 93 (theguardian.com).

“The veteran actor, immortalised in films from Dracula to The Wicker Man, and via James Bond villainy to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, died at 8.30am on Sunday morning at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.”

And, for sure, a sincere outpouring of grief from seemingly all.

But lest not be overshadowed on such a sad day:

Ron Moody

Actor Ron Moody—who played Fagin in hit musical film Oliver!—dies aged 91 (theguardian.com).

“The star, who was nominated for the best actor Oscar in 1968 for his performance in the Charles Dickens adaptation, died in hospital today after being ill for some time. The actor, who will forever be associated for his role as the elderly crook, was ‘singing until the end’, his family said. ”

Unsuprisingly seemingly much underated but conversely much modernly rated Anthony Schaffer’s 1973 cult classic The Wicker Man with Christopher Lee as cult leader Lord Summerisle, Edward Woodward as the luckless hero and Britt Ekland adding a touch of nude pagan erotica came in as likely quite firm favourite for several older commentators, wheras Count Dooku scored suprisingly well with those young enough not to need to pay over excessive reverance to the OT—not surprising, he did get to go saber to saber with Yoda. Me, myself and I? I’m torn between The Face of Fu Manchu and the Golden Gun wielding Scaramanga.
