Patron stabbed at Art Basel Miami by NY woman; attendees thought incident was a dramatic performance (nydailynews.com).
“The crazed attacker, later identified as New Yorker Siyuan Zhao, slashed and stabbed her victim in the arms and neck with an X-Acto knife Friday night during an exhibiton at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the Miami Herald reported. … The pair had gotten into a fight after the victim confronted Zhao about following her around the celebrity-studded art show and bumping into her several times, the report states. … Event attendees told the the Herald the two women scrapped near an installation called ‘The Swamp of Sagittarius’ by Miami artist Naomi Fisher. Fisher said she was at her exhibit when she heard a scuffle and later saw a woman being wheeled away by paramedics around 5:30 p.m. ‘A guy walked up to me and said, ‘I thought I saw a performance, and I thought it was fake blood, but it was real blood.’”
Leaving some wondering perhaps while they were filming the impromptu “performance” on phone or tablet who was or should—or perhaps even should not— have been shouting “cut, cut!”
