Pick of the best stories & pics
Rihanna’s sheer gown was see-thru enough to #FreeTheBigBrownNipples and just about everything else at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards (celebrityoopsdigest
Speculation is it was part protest at Instagram’s censors suspending her account for showing her bum. She had tweeted her support for Scout Willis, the 22-year-old daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, who staged a topless protest in New York having been banned from Instagram for showing nawty parts too.
Scout however, while wishing to #FreeTheNipple seemed to wish to distance nudity and sexualisation and point finger at those “degrading” what they liked the look of, perhaps missing the point somewhat as to why Instagrams TOS can permit boobage sans-nipple but not allow that which could be mistaken, erroneous of course, for soft porn when women not breastfeeding babies decide to Instagram theirs in situations that would soon be far removed from examining for lumps. That’s a slipperly slope MySpace’s Tom was certainly not to be keen to slide down too.
Me? I’m certainly totally up for her exposing her titties any time, any where she pleases—and perhaps it’s time to stop demonising anyone who expresses their pleasure at said #FreedNipples too.
“Rihanna didn’t get mad, she got even after the TLC singers complained about her nearly nude appearance at the CFDAs. The 26-year-old Diamonds singer responded by posting a topless photo of the R&B duo and using it as her Twitter background on Thursday.”
Ah! Poetic…. You may—but it seems some didn’t —realise it’s the same point I was making with Scout‘s boobaging bluster.
Oh, except that it’s making me agree with Lily Allen as to “whom the nipple enemy is!” (Pick of the Week, 12th March).
Earlier in the week, RiRi had had a run in with the the tiger-blood dripping teeth of Charlie “she’s no longer a porn star, she’s with me now” Sheen.
“Sheen wrote, ‘Nice impression you left behind, Bday or not. Sorry we ’re not KOOL enough to warrant a blessing from the Princess (or in this case the Village idiot).’”
Ouch! Those curses come like an Affliction Warlock’s DOT stack, when Mr. Sheen’s angry scrim is out, begging one to wonder if he only thought such after refusal. Bearing in mind Charlie Sheen’s alleged long history of violence toward women (jezebel.com) and RiRi’s own experience with the Difficult Brown (dailymail.co.uk), I though her initial “there were too many paps outside” excuse was diplomatic—despite being famous she doesn’t have to like somebody after all, but he pushed her to PvP:
“Goooorrrrrrlllllll......If that old queen don’t get ha diapers out of a bunch…”
TMZ of course tried to stir the cauldron with emphasis on her “old queen” retort, but I can see in the comments I was not the only one who took it to refer to “drama”. :)
Nicki Minaj gave big bubble butt and much underboobage at Hot 97 Summer Jam (celebrityoopsdigest
Rita Ora gave pokies and much thigh in Paris (celebrityoopsdigest
Iggy Azalea’s big badonkadonk bounced the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver (cheekypopdivadigest
Avril Lavigne was in those shiny short shorts and suspenders again, in Vegas (cheekypopdivadigest
Certainly popular considering the amount of Avril fans in the members area, and didn’t you have much to write! Many thanks to NessaLvr for sending much pictorial tour coverage—and splendid new fakes to boot!
American Victoria’s Secret model Chanel Iman gave splendid streetwise sideboob in New York (celebrityoopsdigest
Ashley Tisdale was poking it in L.A. (celebritytonguedigest
And Vanessa Hudgens made a straw very happy leaving Breakroom Cafe in Studio City (celebrityoopsdigest
.:: Top column 2 ::.
Lindsay Lohan slipped some pink areola leaving Chiltern Firehouse (celebrityoopsdigest
Indie pop chantress Eliza Doolittle gave bootyful bikini candids in Miami (celebrityoopsdigest
Arts, culture, tech. & funnies
How or what to make of Tracey Emin’s bed soon be sold at auction (theguardian.com).
“Emin herself was on hand to make sure the installation looked right. ‘I remember her saying,’ Elliott adds, ‘that the sheets weren’t nearly as stained and smelly as she remembered them.’”
Which obviously leaves all incredulous at why current owner Charles Saatchi’s offer to gift it to the nation went begging (Pick of the Week 27th Aug. 2012).
“…the artist behind this resurrection of art’s most famous missing body part, hopes to tour it to New York. Will the ear get its own seat on the plane? Will it become an art world star?”
Hell, will ArtPopish Lady Gaga sew it onto her minge?
Trivia: French Post-Impressionist Paul Gauguin
was paid by Van Gogh’s brother Theo consented to work and live side-by-side in Arles with Van Gogh, and Van Gogh severed his ear after a quarrel, feeling an increasing fear that Gauguin was going to desert him. While alive, his work was known to only a handful of people and appreciated by fewer still.
I’m only an unknown scribbler behind a pseudonym sketching things stuck up Avril Lavigne’s arse of course, but I can sooOoo identify with that last bit… I recently lost a big toenail due to a Wing Chun injury if anyone is interested. You are welcome to make me an offer while I’m still alive.
TrueCrypt waved goodbye with cryptic “using TrueCrypt is not secure as…” message (krebsonsecurity.com).
“… truecrypt.org began forwarding visitors to the program’s home page on sourceforge.net, a Web-based source code repository. That page includes instructions for helping Windows users transition drives protected by TrueCrypt over to BitLocker…”
Blimey! Has the security of your secret chocolate cookies recipe been compromised?
The theories run thick and fast there; what is the real score? Was it worry independent security testing underway would actually find a flaw or have they done a Lavabit after NSA pressure and given a dead canary? Hmmmm… TrueCrypt is Not Secure As…. Steganographic curtain call or smoke and mirrors?
As suggested, it is likely the last version, 7.1a, is… well, as safe and secure or insecure as it was back then and is still downloadable. You can grab the Truecrypt User Guide here if you still plan to use it (PDF file, mia-net.org).
UK public warned to protect themself from major computer virus (news.uk.msn.com).
“The UK has a ‘two-week period’ to protect itself from a major computer virus that could give hackers access to sensitive information—costing the country millions of pounds, the National Crime Agency has said.”
Okay, first off, lets get the anally retentive bit out of the way—it’s not a virus it’s a trojan: The difference between a computer virus, worm and trojan horse (webopedia.com).
Does that make much difference to anybody? No, not really—except for when you are calling the bluff on some cheeky chap trying to tell female visitors in some sordid chatroom or forum that he has infected them with something and unless…—but what does is that the two
viri botnet trojans in question are not actually new—indeed, CryptoLocker has already featured in Pick of the Week back in Oct. 2013—and if you are still open to attack it should certainly be advised that no one stick their stick in any of your systems orifices.
What is new is that the command and control severs of the cyber-gang running the thing, which has stolen millions worldwide, have been shut down, but that it is estimated it will take them only a few weeks to relocate, so if you have miraculously evaded getting something nasty without malware protection so far, then it’s as good a time as any to warn you to do so. You can even get some for free—but make sure it is reputable, it’s a particularly frequent old scam for an infected site you may visit that suggests you have something nasty already to promise to protect you while actually infecting you.
Avast free antivirus (avast.com).
“Victims need to provide an email address and upload just one of the encrypted files from their computer, and the service will email a link that victims can use to download a recovery program to decrypt all of their scrambled files.”
“According to McAfee, the seizure of Gameover is expected to coincide with a cleanup effort in which Internet service providers contact affected customers to help remediate compromised PCs.”
Again though, remember there is a particular old scam where telephone “help” at [insert] informs someone their system is infected and that they need to vist a site and download software to remove it (blogs.msdn.com). Needless to say, they will certainly have something after.
“HE IS WORLD famous, and at the same time anonymous. The man who stood alone blocking a column of tanks at Tiananmen Square endures as a symbol of peaceful protest and defiance 25 years later.”
I think why he is so iconic and universal is that we have all been—or can imagine being—at that point in the road in our life where despite the danger and seeming fatalism, and despite choice to move aside, we stand our ground for what we believe.
“Maybe he was killed, maybe he was thrown in prison, maybe he went abroad, but it doesn’t matter any more.”
I think it did to him and those by whom he was loved, and I think for the rest of us, he should at least not be fogotten. #TiananmenSquare (Twitter).
Tiananmen Square 25th anniversary (news.msn.com).
